Your medications are mixed according to your unique requirements. We are able to help you get well when off-the-shelf medicines are not the answer.

A Compounding Pharmacy Can Help Your Family in Many Ways

We are different from traditional pharmacies in that, working along with your physician,  compounding pharmacies offer customized medications to serve your individual treatment needs. No two people are alike and sometimes off-the-shelf dosages, delivery methods, or formularies are not appropriate for your special needs.  Or, your physician may prescribe something that is not available or hard-to-find.  Now you can obtain professional service and medications from a family-owned, Memphis area compounding pharmacy.

At Regel PharmaLab, A Memphis Compounding Pharmacy, You Can Obtain Many Customized Medication Options

Because compounding is as much of an art as a science, compounding pharmacies often specialize in particular areas.  We can provide individualized prescriptions for many areas of health care but have dedicated a proactive focus on the following areas:

  • Hormone Replacement Therapy

  • Pediatrics

  • Wound Care

  • Pain Management

  • Hospice Treatment

  • Podiatry Issues

  • Veterinary Prescriptions

I keep hearing that I should be more concerned about how much Vitamin D I am getting. Why?

If you have listened to any health news lately you have probably heard the buzz surrounding Vitamin D. For years people did not pay much attention to this vitamin known for strengthening bones, but now scientists are finding that the implications of a deficiency may have much more harmful effects. In general, some of us, may be able to get enough from mid day sun exposure. But for many, getting adequate amounts through food or normal daily activities may be impossible. With all the new research it's important for you to become educated on how much Vitamin D you and your family should be getting, and take steps to ensure that it's adequate. The consequences could be significant.

Why should you have your Vitamin D level checked?

  • It is estimated that 1 billion people worldwide have a deficiency in Vitamin D.

  • One study found that 73% of pregnant women and 80% of their infants were Vitamin D deficient at the time of birth.

Why is Vitamin D important?

Deficient levels of Vitamin D have been studied and are related to diseases including osteoporosis, depression, cancer, diabetes, increased blood pressure, and joint pain.

Where does Vitamin D come from?

  • Sunshine

  • Diet

  • Supplements

How much Vitamin D do I need?

Healthy adults and adolescents who regularly avoid sunlight exposure indicates a necessity to supplement with 1,000 IU - 5,000 IU of Vitamin D daily.

How do I get 1,000 IU to 5,000 IU daily?

  • Consume 10-50 glasses of milk daily.

  • Consume 2-10 Multi-vitamin tablets daily.

  • Spend 20-30 minutes in the midday sunlight daily.

  • Consume 1 capsule of Vitamin D 1,000 IU or 5,000 IU daily.**

How I do get information about my Vitamin D level? Obtain a 25-hydroxyvitamin D test from your physician.

How do I ensure adequate levels of Vitamin D from supplements?
Take 1,000 - 5,000 IU per day for 2-3 months, then obtain another blood test to determine your Vitamin D level. Adjust your dosage so that blood levels are between 50-80 ng/mL year-round.

Where can I obtain the appropriate Vitamin D supplement?
We carry both Vitamin D 1000 IU and Vitamin D 5,000 IU supplements. Download our free brochure to learn more about Vitamin D supplements or call us today for more information.
